![]() The fit-and-finish was flawless on both guns otherwise. The M9a1 was right on the money out of the box. ![]() The 92fs sights were misaligned when I got it. I own a US-made M9a1 and an Italian-made 92fs. All my opinion, of course, and worth every penny you paid for it But with guns, it's hard to beat USA-made, I think Italy is about a tie. Western European products are just as good as US-made, sometimes better, like with cars. I LOVE my US-made Beretta, it's my favorite handgun I own by a large margin, and I like that it was made here on our soil, always a preference of mine when I have a choice - though, there's nothing wrong with Italian. I don't think they use "paint", do they? Either way, EU regulations on that stuff are worse than here, believe it or not. If I have a choice, I prefer the Italian Beretta guns over the US guns. The chemical composition of the metals used in the gun may also differ between the two countries, but if you are a big company like Beretta you can probably get a steel mill to make you anything you want. Maybe in Italy they can still use a solvent based paint. In the US they most likely have to use a water based paint.
